A Rye Girls Varsity Tennis double team is headed to States.

“Rye’s #1 seeded doubles team of senior captains Charlotte Ausfahl and Juliette Stone gutted out a tough 3 set match to an excellent team from Scarsdale wining 6-1, 4-6, 6-1,” said Rye Girls Varsity Tennis Coach Anthony Campbell. “This puts them in the Section Doubles final against a strong team from Byram Hills, but also automatically qualifies them to play in the NY State tournament starting October 27 in Albany. They are the first Rye tennis players to qualify for States since Natalie Rodilosso in the fall of 2016.”

In singles, sophomore Dylin Pizzutello had a solid first round win before falling to a strong Scarsdale player, as was the case for the freshmen doubles team of Alexandra Ausfahl and Sasha Sherman. All around the girls had a positive showing for the Rye team in the tournament.
