RHS ’82 Alum Coaches Club Team to 3rd Place in Women’s C Slow Pitch Worlds Series
Former Rye High School Softball and Field Hockey standout Mary Cavataro (’82) coached her Softball club “STORM” to a 3rd place finish at the United States Specialty Sports Association (USSSA) Women’s C Slow Pitch Worlds Series.
Thirty-three of the best women’s teams from all over the US participated this past weekend at the Space Coast Complex in Viera, FL. STORM went 4-0 thought the winners bracket before finishing 3rd in the event. Cavataro is a 41 year veteran of semi-pro slow pitch. She is a former Class A Women’s World Series winner, and played many years at the highest levels of amateur softball in the country, including in the Women’s Majors. This is her 9th year as coach.
The team will play “Class B” for 2022 and hopes to continue the winning tradition.
