“It was a hell of a game,” Rye Boys Varsity Football Coach Dino Garr told MyRye.com. “We got behind – we were doing some defensive schemes that just weren’t working well and we made some adjustments and our players persevered and did a great job and showed great character in playing great defense for us and doing just enough to get us in the position to win at the end of the game.”

“It was really a total team effort,” said Garr. “Special teams did a great job, our kicking game was there when we needed it. Obviously we won with the kicking game getting the extra points and the filed goal.”

We are scheduled to compete around 11:30am [Sunday] at Blind Brook High School!”

Asked about his assessment of the Somers match-up next Friday, Coach Garr said “They [Somers] are a great team. They are undefeated and I think they are going to be favored and rightfully so – they beat up everybody that they played, nothing was close. We expect a big battle and are guys are going to come to play.”
