Coach Garr Honored @ NY Jets Game

Rye Boys Varsity Football Coach Dino Garr was honored Sunday afternoon at the New York Jets game at MetLife stadium. In November, Garr was named by the Jets as a High School Coach of the Week.
Garr and ten other coaches were hosted in a luxury box and honored on the field during the game. Garr will receive a monetary award of $1,000 to benefit the Rye’s football program and the team will receive an automatic bid to compete in the 2022 New York Jets 11-ON Jets 11-ON Tournament. Rye High School will receive 100 tickets to the Jets Play Football 2022 preseason home game.
In its 26th year, the Jet’s Coach of the Week award is given to a coach in the Tri-State area who serves the best interests of the game through the teaching of sound football fundamentals, the motivation of young players to achieve and the promotion of youth football by way of dedication to their community, their school, and their student athletes.
Garr attended Rye High School, playing tailback and linebacker. He became assistant coach at Rye High School in 1976 and head coach in 1984. He has 330 wins in his career.
