52 COVID Cases Across All Rye Schools, 74 New / 548 Active Across All of Rye
The Rye City School District reported 52 COVID cases across all Rye schools Thursday evening.
Westchester County reports there are 46 new cases and 548 active cases in Rye. There have been 2,700 cumulative cases in Rye, so the active cases represent a full twenty percent of the total during the course of the pandemic.

To: Rye City School District Recipients
Dear RCSD Community,
For the time being, I will be sending out one notification of positive cases to the community each night, rather than sending individual school notifications. As a reminder, you can see the complete log of notifications on the COVID page of the District’s website.
The District was informed today of the following individuals who have tested positive for COVID-19:
- 20 individuals at Rye High School – 19 last in school on January 4 and one on January 6 – no additional school-related contact tracing or quarantines required
- 10 individuals at Rye Middle School – all last in school on January 4 – no additional school-related contact tracing or quarantines required
- 7 individuals at Midland School – six last in school on January 4 and one on January 6 – no additional school-related contact tracing or quarantines required
- 9 individuals at Osborn School – all last in school on January 4 – no additional school-related contact tracing or quarantines required
- 6 individuals at Milton School – all last in school on January 4 – one of the cases resulted in quarantines
The individuals are currently in quarantine. Due to federal health privacy laws, additional information about the individuals cannot be released.
