In Memory: Henry “Hank” Coakley Dolce, Age 52

Obituary - Henry "Hank" Coakley DolceHenry (Hank) Coakley Dolce of Harrison, NY died peacefully on February 2, 2022 in the loving embrace of his mother and three brothers due to complications from a lifetime of Type 1 Diabetes. Born in New Rochelle, NY on January 31, 1970, Hank had just celebrated his 52nd birthday.

Hank was a devoted son of Elizabeth (Beth) Coakley Dolce and the late John (Jed) Emmett Dolce of Harrison, NY.

Hank graduated from Resurrection School in Rye, NY, Saint Mary’s High School in Greenwich, CT (where he was awarded the headmaster’s award at graduation), and two years at Mount Ida College in Boston, MA.

A lover of the outdoors, as a youth Hank attended the Outward Bound program in Maine. He also attended Camp Dewitt in Wolfeboro, NH where he was given the hiking award and the honor camper award. Hank loved sports of all kinds: biking, snow and water skiing, fishing, tennis, sailing, horseback riding, and splitting wood. He cherished his time spent with family in Vermont and New Hampshire. Hank also enjoyed bringing food and clothing to the POTS Soup Kitchen and Shelter in the Bronx, NY.

Hank was a loyal employee of SUNY Purchase College in the Facilities Management Department for fourteen years.

Hank is also survived by his wonderful sixteen year old daughter Elizabeth (Ellie) Dolce, the light of his life, as well as his three loving brothers Jared (and Jen) of Darien, CT, Luke (and Sarah) of Weston, CT, and Jake (and Siobhan) of Rye Brook, NY. A devoted and caring uncle, Hank has eleven nieces and nephews.

Hank comes from a large and close knit family: June and Jack Heffernan, Donn and Nora Dolce, and Wendy and the late Jamie Dolce, all of Rye, NY as well as his fourteen cousins.

Family and friends are invited to attend a celebration of the life of Hank. A wake will be held at Graham Funeral Home in Rye, NY on February 8th from 4:00 to 7:00 pm and the mass of Christian burial on Wednesday at 10:00 am, February 9th at The Church of the Resurrection in Rye, NY.
