Girls Varsity Track & Field in Strong Showing Vs. Pelham

The Rye Girls Varsity Track & Field team had a strong meet against Pelham this past Tuesday.

Highlights from the meet included:

  • The girls 2 mile relay of Alence Zion, Aine Kennelly, Alex Verna and Sophia Sciulli started the meet off with a first place finish.
  • Logan Brady and Alessia Pedrazzoli went 1-2 in the 100 hurdles. Cate Doyle had 1st place finishes in both the 100M and 200M.
  • Sophia Shoemaker and Megyn Coyne ran strong races in the 400 M running 1 – 2.
  • In the distance races Alex Verna won the 1500 while Aine Kennelly won the girls 3000.
  • Sophie Bourne and Sophia Sciulli were 1st and 2nd in the girls.
  • Logan Brady won the shot with a throw of 26’10” and Bella Gagliano was 2nd.
  • Hannah Cali was 1st in the girls discus and Bella Gagliano was 2nd.
  • In the jumps Signe Olsborg both the long jump and the high jump.
  • Devon ODonnell won the triple jump with a jump of 32’9″ followed by Signe Olsborg 2nd and Sofi Fu 3rd.
  • The 400 relay team ran a strong race in a time of 54.32 taking first (Cate Doyle,Signe Olsborg, Megyn Coyne and Sophia Shoemaker.

The next meet is 3:45pm Wednesday, April 20th vs. Harrison and Byram.
