Girls Varsity Track Places Second in League 2A Championships

Rye Girls Varsity Track competed in the League 2A Championships this past week finishing second.

Logan Brady won the hurdles in a time of 17.58 followed by Eva Pedrazolli in 5th place. Cate Doyle was 2nd in the 200 meters and Sophia Shoemaker was 2nd in the 400 meters. The girls were 3rd, 4th and 5th in the Javelin (Bella Gagliano, Sabrina Pereira and Hannah Cali).

Devon O’Donnell was league champ in the triple jump with a personal best of 34′ followed by Signe Olsborg in 2nd and Kaiya Devitre in 3rd. In the 800 meters Bella Lulay was 3rd and Sophie Bourne finished 4th.

The girls took 2nd, 3rd and 5th in the discus (Sabrina Pereira, Hannah Cali and Bella Gagliano). Signe Olsborg won the high jump followed by Devon O’Donnell in 3rd. Megyn Coyne was 3rd in the long jump and Signe Olsborg was 4th.

The girls swept the relay winning the 3200 relay in a time of 10:52 (Bella Lulaj, Sophie Bourne, Jess Bourn and Alex Verna). The 1600 relay won in a time of 4:30 (Bella Lulaj, Sophie Bourne, Megyn Coyne and Alex Verna). The girls just missed the school record in the 400 meter relay running a time of 52.09 (Cate Doyle, Signe Olsborg, Megyn Coyne and Sophia Shoemaker).
