In Memory: Anthony “Bud” Prizio, Age 92
After a lengthy illness, Anthony (Bud) Prizio passed away peacefully on June 4, 2022 at home surrounded by his family. He was just a few days shy of his 93rd birthday.
Born on June 10, 1929 in Stamford, CT, he was the only child of Patrick and Lucille Prizio. Bud attended Fairfield College Preparatory School and graduated from the University of Maryland with a Bachelor of Arts Degree.
In 1954 he married Billie Berlanti of Rye and resided in Greyrock Park where they raised their two daughters. Bud was blessed with an innate sense of design and good taste which served him well in his chosen profession, builder of custom homes. His pleasure was creating beautiful homes with the finest craftsmen who admired his commitment to excellence. His clients started out as business relationships and many seamlessly evolved into lifelong friendships.
Blessed with the gift of curiosity, Bud lived through enormous change socially, culturally and technologically. He received his first computer on his 80th birthday and embraced all that technology had to offer.
Bud’s essence was that of an old-school, well-mannered, elegant gentleman with a generous heart. His family was most important to him. He was a loving son who cared for his aging parents with dignity and respect; a devoted and warm-hearted husband; and a Dad above all else – his girls could do no wrong and there was nothing he valued more than spending time with them. Bud’s zest for life was remarkable. A longtime member of Westchester Country Club, Bud savored sitting at the beach on a sunny day, gazing at Long Island Sound with his family, topped off by a perfectly balanced margarita and a grilled steak.
Survivors include his wife Billie, daughters Joy of Manhattan; and Gay of Larchmont, NY; nephew Robert Storms; niece Sharon Cobb, her husband Ronald, and their three sons, all of Barrington, IL. A memorial mass will be held at Church of the Resurrection, Rye, NY on Wednesday, June 15, 2022 at 11:00 a.m.
