In Memory: Nicholas Loglisci, Age 96
With great sadness, we announce the passing of Nicholas Loglisci , of Rye, NY on June 26th, 2022, at age 96. Nick was born in New York, New York on May 7th, 1926 to Maria and Vincenzo Loglisci and is the last surviving member of his family of 4 siblings.
He is the beloved husband of Anna Loglisci, his wife of 68 years, who predeceased him on June 2nd, 2022, and has gone to join her in Heaven. He is also the loving father of Patricia Hanson (Drew) and the cherished Papa of Christopher and Erik Hanson.
After growing up in the Bronx, Nick proudly enlisted in the Navy at the age of 18 to serve his country during World War II. He attended a program for training in electronics and radio operations before being placed as a radio operator in the Pacific Theater from 1944-1946.
He used the training he received in the military to earn a living in jobs that required skills in repair and electronics. For the last 20 years of his career, he worked at Sarah Lawrence College as part of the building and maintenance crew. He was a master at fixing things and was always ready to lend a hand to family and friends that needed his help.
In his retirement, he took on the hobby of model railroading, a passion he shared with friends and his grandsons. He also had a lifelong devotion to the Yankees, a love he passed on to his daughter and grandchildren.
Everyone who knew Nick knew him to be a kind hearted soul with a sharp sense of humor, who made friends everywhere he went. He will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.
