Attempted entry was made on a Horton Street home in the early hours of Wednesday morning. The same individual was also seen trying to enter vehicles in the area. The Rye PD is warning residents to be vigilant and lock their property. Horton Street is just off Forest Avenue and near Rye Playland.

“This is an escalation from the car larcenies we have been seeing over the last two years and strongly advise our residents to make a conscious effort to lock up their property whether it is the residence or their vehicles,” said Detective Lieutenant Michael Anfuso of the City of Rye Police Department.

At approximately 2:10am Wednesday morning, the unidentified male attempted to open the rear door of a residence on Horton Street. The Rye PD Detective Division canvassed the area and retrieved video of the incident as well as other videos of the same male attempting to enter several parked vehicles. No arrests have been reported. At this time, it appears the individual was operation alone, according to police.
