Girls Varsity Swimming Laps Across JJCR
Rye Girls Varsity Swimming & Diving lapped across John Jay Cross River today, taking the win 91-89.
“Rye won a close meet against John Jay Cross River,” said Rye Girls Varsity Swimming & Diving Coach Katie Konopka. “Rye sophomore Sophia Lord won the 100 yard butterfly and 100 yard breaststroke. Her time in the 100 yard breaststroke is a sectional qualifying time.”
The two Rye Divers Mia Howson and Kaitlyn Bentley played a huge role in the meet win. Additional event winners include 200 Medley Relay- Grayson Findlay, Sophia Lord, Zoe Lien, Kayla Lombardo, 200 IM- Sydney Goldberg, and 100 backstroke- Grayson Findlay.
The season evens at 1-1. Garnets swim against Ursuline on Thursday at 4:30pm.
