In Memory: Robert J. Fuchs, Age 76
Robert J. Fuchs, age 76, a long-term resident of Rye, New York, passed away suddenly on September 14, 2022. The son of Joseph A. and Katherine D. Fuchs, lifelong residents of Rye, Bob was a dedicated husband, beloved brother and seemed bigger than life to his many friends. He had an easy-going personality that was welcoming, warm, and genuine. Bob was incredibly empathetic/sympathetic, humble, unpretentious, and had a great sense of humor. Importantly, he was not judgmental, and could be relied upon for sage advice when called upon. He always had time to listen.
An avid New York sports fan (even the Yankees), he was often heard as a caller on sports talk radio. He started each day with SNY, and regularly contributed on Metsmerized. An exceptional musician, with a great curiosity about instrumentation, he knew how to make a song sound great.
Bob received a B.A. from Boston College. After school, he joined the U.S Air Force where he served for four years. Known for his creative talents, he wrote original songs and was an incredibly talented lyricist. He created advertising campaigns for J Walter Thompson where his ad spots were featured on a Superbowl telecast. During his career, he also worked with a variety of advertising and marketing agencies, often creating highly memorable messaging.
Bob is survived by his loving wife, Maria Brown Fuchs, her daughter, Lauren Brown and grandson Jarren, his close brother Tom Fuchs and wife Linda, and their daughter, Aleah Gerdes of Phoenix.
