Girls Varsity Field Hockey Ends Season Run in Deep Water vs. Lakeland
Rye Girls Varsity Field Hockey ended its season run on Saturday in the deep water versus Lakeland. Lakeland poured water on the Garnets’ hot season with a 2-0 score at its Shrub Oak campus.
“Of course it’s sad to not bring home the championship but I could not be prouder of my players,” said Rye Girls Varsity Field Hockey Coach Kelly Vegliante. “They worked hard day in and day out since August. Our goal was to make it to the championship and we did that. We put Rye field hockey back on the map. This team will always be number 1 in my eyes.”
Rye had seven shots on goal. Garnet goalie Chloe Holden had 12 saves.
