Rye Girls Varsity Soccer put Eastchester in the hutch Saturday 2-1, cinching the league title at the away game.

“Rye played a strong match against Eastchester to clinch the league title,” said Rye Girls Varsity Soccer Coach Rich Savage.

Isabel Harvey opened up the scoring for Rye finishing a one touch shot off a perfect cross from Signe Olsborg. A few minutes later, Maddy Walsh would score in the upper 90 from a direct kick from 30 yards out. Eastchester scored a late goal to bring the march within reach, but Rye’s defense held strong to keep the victory. Karenna Chader made four saves for the win.

The season record stands at 13-2-1. The Garnets will find out their sectional seed Monday night and host a first round game on Friday, October 21st.
