Girls Varsity Soccer Puts Pelham in the Hutch
Rye Girls Varsity Soccer put Pelham in the hutch Wednesday, taking the win at Nugent 3-0.
“Della Goodman had a solid game as an outside back, limiting Pelham’s scoring opportunities,” said Rye Girls Varsity Soccer Coach Rich Savage. “Rye’s Lyla Keenan opened up the scoring for Rye ten minutes into the game with a perfect pass from Bowyn Brown. At the halfway mark through the first half, Maddy Walsh buried a goal after Sage Ruttenberg made an overlapping run to cross the ball in the box.”
At the start of the second half, Lyla Kennan scored her second goal of the game after Isabel Harvey cleared a lane for Keenan. Goalie Tessa Labowitz had 4 saves for the shut out.
The season is now 12-2-1. Watch the replay. Rye will travel to Eastchester to take on the Eagles on Saturday at 2pm.
