Girls Varsity Swimming Buffets White Plains

Rye Girls Varsity Swimming & Diving buffeted White Plains on Monday, winning 99-84.

“The team honored the 4 seniors captains: Jo-Lynn Kok, Zoe Lien, Cassie Brook and Phi Cai prior to the start of the meet tonight,” said Rye Girls Varsity Swimming & Diving Coach Katie Konopka.

Match highlights included:

  • Sydney Goldberg, Junior from Blind Brook, had a strong 200 Freestyle placing second and making her sectional cut in that event.
  • Yana Vorbiev from Blind Brook made her sectional cut in the 50 freestyle.
  • Sophia Lord, Rye sophomore, won the 200 individual medley and made her sectional cut.
  • Kayla Lombardo, Rye sophomore, had a great 100 breaststroke to win the event.

The season is now 5-4. There is a divisional dive meet at SUNY on Friday at 3pm, and divisional championships at Felix Festa on Saturday.
