X-Country Places @ Edward JJ Bowes Invite at Staten Island

The Rye Boys and Girls Cross Country Teams competed at The Edward JJ Bowes Invite at Staten Island Saturday, placing in various races.

In the boys race, Will Squarek was 9th overall in a time of 16:56 for 5k with Freshman Clayton Stark (18:58) and Junior James Duran (19:11) coming in 2nd and 3rd for the Garnets.

In the girls race, Jessica Bourne led the Garnets finishing 20th overall in 21:41 with Freshman Lily Oberbannscheidt and Junior Aine Kennelly coming in right behind in 21:44 and 22:03 respectively.

Overall Rye scored 50 versus 15 for the top ranking team. The Garnet season stands 6-4. The Garnets look to compete well next weekend at The County Championship at Somers High School on Saturday.
