Don’t say your vote does not count.

As of 8:00am Wednesday morning, council candidate Lori Fontanes (Dem) leads Matt Fahey (GOP) by 116 votes, based on the unofficial tally of the Westchester County Board of Elections.

Fontanes holds 3,155 (51%) versus Fahey’s 3,039 (49%) votes. Neither one has declared victory or conceded as of this writing.

The are running to serve the final year of Richard Mecca’s four year council term. Emily Hurd has been serving since January after Mecca resigned for health reasons. Mecca passed away in the spring.

Fahey carries the endorsement from six council members (all but Josh Nathan, who has endorsed Fontanes).

We will run updated stories later in the day on this and other races.
