Girls Varsity Swimming 6th of 28 Teams in Sectionals
Rye Girls Varsity Swimming & Diving placed 6th out of the 28 teams competing at the Section 1 Championship Swim Meet. Sophia Lord will represent the Rye-Rye Neck-Blind Brook team in the 200 Individual Medley and 100 Breaststroke at the state championship meet in Rochester on November 18th and 19th.
“Rye-Rye Neck-Blind Brook had a great sectional meet and placed 6th out of 28 teams,” said Rye Girls Varsity Swimming & Diving Coach Katie Konopka.
Meet highlights included:
- 200 Medley Relay placed 5th – Megan Tiedemann, Sophia Lord, Sydney Goldberg, Zoe Lien
- 200 Free- Kayla Lombardo (14th)
- 200 IM – Sophia Lord (7th)
- 50 Free- Zoe Lien (6th)
- 100 Fly- Sophia Lord (6th)
- 100 Free- Sydney Goldberg (13th), Zoe Lien (15th)
- 100 Breaststroke- Kayla Lombardo (7th), Charlize Tavitian (9th)
- 400 Free Relay placed 8th- Zoe Lien, Kayla Lombardo, Sophia Lord, and Sydney Goldberg
The team record sits 5-4.
