PD Arrests Resident for Assault and Criminal Mischief
Rye PD arrested a resident on Wednesday for assault and criminal mischief after responding to a 911 report of a fight in progress on Oakland Beach Avenue in the area of Milton Road.
Police investigating revealed that Patrick Michael Cox, age 53 and a resident of Rye, got into a physical altercation with the passenger of a vehicle regarding their vehicle’s operation. The physical altercation escalated and Cox forcefully took a cellphone from the operator’s hand as she attempted to call 911. Rye Police officers arrested Cox for Assault 3rd (Class A misdemeanor) and Criminal Mischief 4th (Class A misdemeanor).
Cox was transported to the Rye Police Headquarters for processing and was held for arraignment. Cox was released on his own recognizance and issued a full stay order protecting the victims. Cox is due back in Rye City Court on December 20th to answer the charges.
Rye PD reminds you booking charges are merely accusations and the defendant(s) are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
Not surprised, this is not the first time he has had police called. He treats his dog like crap and people called police before. Nasty, Nasty piece of work
This guy is bad news. Cops have been called on him a number of times for his abuse of his dog, for arguing with other dog owners and now this. Was also asked to leave youth sporting events because of his behavior. I hope his wife and children are safe. Some people are genuinely concerned for their safety with this guy around.
