Varsity Skiing Storms Season with Top Honors
The Rye Varsity Ski team took top honors as both the girls and boys team competed against Brewster, Blind Brook and Mahopac Monday evening in their first team race of the season. The competition brought both teams to a record of 3-0 in the league.
“Both our girls and boys teams skied very well under some tough conditions with soft snow deteriorating the course as the night progressed,” said Rye Varsity Ski Co-head Coach Jeffrey Steinmann.
The girls team had 6 racers place in the top ten.

The boys Team had 7 racers place in the top 10.

“With the weather causing many cancellations of so many practices and races we couldn’t be happier with how the night turned out,” said Steinmann. “The kids have been working hard in our limited time up on the hill and they are really starting to push each other.”
