Rye Girls Varsity Squash MVP: Despina Sfiris

The 2022-23 Rye Girls Varsity Squash MVP is senior Despina Sfiris.

“Despina is the driving core of the Rye Girls Squash Team,” said Rye Girls Varsity Squash Coach Tony Campbell. “A leader by example, she never misses a practice or match, and takes every drill as an opportunity for growth. Playing #2 in the lineup, and often filling in at #1, she eagerly sought the challenge of facing any opponent. Her ever increasing US Squash rating earned her a second straight season of All League Honors, and her upset wins against higher rated players from Darien and Westport Staples were key in securing our undefeated Fairwest League Championship.”
