Boys Varsity Rugby Zeroes St. Anthony’s

Rye Boys Varsity Rugby zeroed St. Anthony’s at Nugent Stadium Friday night with a commanding 40-0 win.

“Tonight was the ultimate team effort,” said Rye Boys Varsity Rugby Coach Jim O’Hara. “Eight different players scored for Rye in a dominant league win over a hard playing St. Anthony’s team.”

“What a great showcase for how much the sport of Rugby has come in the city of Rye. It was a beautiful night in Nugent Stadium to watch our nationally ranked Garnets secure the win over a very respectable opponent in St. Anthony’s. Rye dominated in ever facet of the game, going up 40-0 by halftime. St. Anthony’s played hard throughout and both their players and coaches should be commended for how they carried themselves both on and off the field.”
