Boys Varsity Tennis Claws the Eastchester Eagles
Rye Boys Varsity Tennis clawed the Eastchester Eagles on Friday, taking the away win 6-1.
“I can’t say enough about how well the singles players are doing this year,” said Rye Boys Varsity Tennis Coach Sue Dickson. “They compete well, hang in even if the points are tough and they grind out matches with a lot of heart. I can count on them to compete with anyone. The doubles are beginning to be more aggressive at the net and that helps to earn them points. There was a nice showing at the exhibition doubles match with our “young guns” who are eighth grade students who made the varsity as well as with our singles exhibition match.”
The season is now 4-0. Rye is at the top of its league in the standings. Tennis travels to Rye Country Day School for a 4:15pm match Monday.
