Rye Boys Varsity Tennis was privatized by Rye Country Day School on Monday. RCDS topped the Garnets 4-3.

“The match vs. RCDS was moved from outdoors to indoors due to weather,” said Rye Boys Varsity Tennis Coach Sue Dickson. “With a strong start to the match, Rye took the early lead winning three of the four singles matches; Nicolas Echlov, Alex Gordon, and Lou Kim-Reuter were all victorious. They were all hard fought competitive matches with two ending in tiebreakers. Fourth singles was the debut for eighth grade Lou Kim-Reuter who trounced his opponent 6-1, 6-1. The three doubles teams struggled; it boiled down to third doubles for the deciding point. With both teams cheering on their teammates it was exciting, unfortunately Rye came up short. I couldn’t be happier for the good sportsmanship from the Rye crew.”

The Garnets are now 3-1. Varsity hosts the Harrison Huskies on Tuesday at 4:15pm.
