The Big Picture Foundation had its kickoff meeting on Monday to get the organization up and running again under its new coordination by Laura Anechiaricho at the Rye Arts Center.

The non-profit was founded in 2017 by Rye Middle School art teacher Kim Tamelonis with the mission of empowering middle and high-school-aged children to use the arts to create an interactive global community. Tamelonis’ efforts have facilitated connections between Rye students and a multitude of schools and communities worldwide, creating the groundwork for these young leaders to build connections and initiate activism through the arts. With the aid of the Rye Arts Center’s facilities, BPF is able to expand its work for youth initiatives going forward.

Tamelonis was forced to take a step back from the organization a year ago due to health reasons, but BPF has been revitalized by Anechiaricho. The organization is looking forward to great years ahead.

The Rye Arts Center invites anyone with an interest in getting involved in the arts and community service initiatives on both a local and global scale to join BPF at their second meeting on Monday, June 5th from 4-6 pm as the organization kicks back into gear.
