Rye Boys Varsity baseball shook the Horace Greeley Quakers on its home field in the first round of the Section One playoffs with a resilient performance. The Garnets battled back from a 1 – 4 deficit to a walk off 5–4 win in the bottom of the seventh inning.

The victory improves Rye’s record to 14 – 6 – 1 on the season.

Rye won on a Tyler Winderman RBI walk off single with two outs in the final frame. Tommy Broderick hit a clutch RBI 2B to tie the game in the seventh.

Charlie Margiloff pitched two innings in relief, allowing no runs and striking out two batters. At the plate, the Garnets received key contributions from Jake Kessner, who was 2-for-4 with two RBIs, and Tyler Canna, who drove in a run on a double.
