Boys Varsity Rugby Headbutts The Rams
Rye Boys Varsity Rugby headbutted the Fordham Rams Thursday, winning the away game 58 – 3.
“Underclassmen led the way for the Garnets,” said Rye Boys Varsity Rugby Coach Jim O’Hara. “Junior Prop Koen Terlouw scored four tries, sophomore scrumhalf Archer Fenton scored three times, and Junior Jason Gonzalez had some thunderous hits from his Outside Center position.”
Sophomore Patrick McGuire and Owen Saya combined for some smooth lineout plays, proving that the future is bright for the young Garnets.
The team is 16th in the country with a 4 – 3 – 1 record. The Garnets host the Play Rugby team next Thursday, May 11th at 6:45pm.
