Four Rye students have been presented citizenship awards by local State Senator Shelley Mayer. High Schools in the area nominated students who have made exemplary contributions to their communities through community service, extracurricular activities or daily actions to serve their schools or community.

Cameron Holler and Phoebe Greto of Rye High School and Amelia Kligman and Alexis Friedman from Rye Neck High School were four of 29 Westchester high school students receiving recognition.

“I am delighted to present the 2023 Citizenship Award to these remarkable students in my district,” said Mayer. “They have shown dedication to their community, and I am grateful for young individuals who invest their time and energy into making their community and Westchester a better place.”

The awardees gathered with Mayer last Friday, where the 29 students from all over the county discussed their accolades and accomplishments so that they could get to know each other and gain inspiration from their peers.
