Health Dept Greenlights Playland Beach for Labor Day Weekend
After a closure this week, the Westchester County Health Department (DOH) has determined that Playland Beach is safe to reopen, just in time for the Labor Day holiday weekend. Bacteria was found in the water, which poses a threat to swimmers.
Health Department officials sent out water samples to test for enterococcus bacteria before reopening the beach to patrons.
Playland is offering fireworks this Friday and Saturday night starting at 8:30pm. On Saturday it also has a Neon Glow Party – dancing, beach games and music, from 6:00pm to 9:00pm at Playland Beach. It is being offered free with admission to the beach and pool.
