Girls Varsity Soccer Dices Pelham
Rye Girls Varsity Soccer diced Pelham at Glover Field on Tuesday for a 3 – 0 win away.
Going into the match, Pelham had not given up a goal in its last five matches. The first half was difficult for the Garnets as the team was facing directly into the sun.
As the game continued, Rye settled down and started connecting passes. Pelham’s keeper had three big saves to keep the game scoreless at halftime. At the start of the second half, Rye began to move the ball nicely throughout the field. Bowyn Brown would score the first goal of the match from a pass from Lyla Keenan, at the 60 minute mark with just 20 minutes left the game. Just four minutes later, Rye’s freshman Charlotte Keenan would score off a pass from Maddy Walsh. Maddy would set up Isabelle Harvery’s final goal of the match.
The Garnets are now 6 – 2. Rye is back at it again tomorrow afternoon as they host Edgemont at 5:00pm (watch it).
