Garnet Football Heads to State Finals After Saturday’s Win Over Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk Indians
Rye Boys Varsity Football is headed to State Finals next weekend. On Saturday, the Garnets polished a win over the Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk Indians 24 – 10 in the victory the Class B Class B Semifinal game at Middletown High School in Middletown, New York. It will be the team’s first appearance in the finals since 2008.
“After an exciting 24-10 comeback win against R-C-S in Middletown, NY, Rye will be heading to the State Finals in Class B against two-time champion Maine-Endwell next Sunday at the Dome in Syracuse,” said Rye Boys Varsity Football Coach Dino Garr. “It took another great team effort despite some early mistakes to earn this victory against a worthy opponent. The Garnets will need to put forth their best effort in the upcoming championship game. Our coaching staff, players, parents and community are elated and looking forward to the challenge.”
