The Rye Free Reading Room gamble on its first-ever casino night fundraiser paid off with over $70,000 raised for library operations. The sold-out event attracted over 300 people on November 4th.

“Everyone was a winner that night!,” said the Library’s Director Chris Shoemaker. “We are very grateful to the Auxiliary Board committee and all the sponsors for making this such a successful and memorable event!”

Dressed in Vegas and festive glamour, the crowd came to try their luck with “funny money” at blackjack, craps, and roulette gambling tables. Guests enjoyed gourmet bites and dancing to lively DJ tracks, while being entertained by an Elvis impersonator and amazed by a roaming Mentalist. A few daring guests won commemorative trophies at the high stakes poker tournament.

“Thanks to the incredible committee and all the sponsors for making this such a successful and memorable event!,” said Auxiliary Board Event Co-Chair JoDee Weis.

Proceeds directly benefit the Auxiliary Board’s mission to support children’s programming, STEM programming, offer the Summer Reading Program, provide museum passes, and various other Library events.
