RYE GARNETS VERSUS PORT JERVIS RAIDERS – SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 18 @ 12:00 NOON @ GOSHEN HIGH SCHOOL, GOSHEN, NY

Over the 95 years of recorded Rye Garnet football history, the Garnets have fared well against Section 9 competition by a margin of 14-4-0 (.778), whether it be during the regular season or from the early rounds of the New York State Football Championship, which began play in 1993. Following are the historical results:

Rye has never played the Red and Black of the PORT JERVIS RAIDERS who enter the quarterfinal round at 8-2 while Rye’s Garnets have a 9-2 season tally. Since 1993 in NY State Championship play, Rye has advanced to the finals six times going 3-3-0 (.500), while Port Jervis has no state tourney post-season experiences. On the Raider side of the ledger Port Jervis has captured five straight Section Nine Championships.

Port Jervis has dominated in half their games punishing opponents by margins of 48-18, 62-0, 37-7, 72-3, 61-20 and 37-6, but the quality of Catskill competition is uneven and perhaps even sparse. It’s Color Wars between the Red and Black of Port Jervis and the Garnet & Black of Rye, but the:
