26 Year Old Arrested for Moped Theft
On Thursday Rye PD arrested Carlos Alberto Ayalarivero, 26, of the Bronx, for Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the fourth degree.
At about 9:50pm, officers were on patrol in the area of Midland Avenue and Grace Church Street when they observed a male operating a moped with no visible license plate. A traffic stop was initiated and an investigation revealed the moped was not registered or insured and Ayalarivero did not possess a license to drive.
The moped’s vehicle identification number (VIN) revealed the moped was reported stolen to the NYPD on December 2. Ayalarivero was placed under arrest and transported to Rye Police Headquarters for processing. Carlos Ayalarivero was released on his own recognizance with a desk appearance ticket to return to Rye City Court on January 9, 2024.
