In Memory: Marilyn Winer, Age 98

Obituary - Marilyn WinerMarilyn Winer died peacefully, at age 98, on February 25, 2024 in Rye, New York surrounded by her loving family. She was a devoted daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was married for 57 years to her husband, Arthur Winer who predeceased her.

She is survived by her son, Samuel Winer (wife Karen), and daughters Karen Friedman (husband Edward) and Pamela Goldberg. Marilyn was born in Boston to Harry and Freida (Kaplan) Miller of blessed memory and was sister to the late Dr. Robert Miller. She leaves her beloved grandchildren Jonathan Friedman (Shauna), Lauren Friedman (Sara), William Friedman, Frederick Goldberg (Amy), Dr. Alyssa Goldberg (Dan), Meredith Goldberg (Matt), Julia Winer and David Winer along with her adored great-grandchildren Claire, Daniel, Ryan, Milo, Colby, Lila, Benjamin, Ella and two more great-grandchildren on the way. She also leaves behind countless dear friends from every part of her life.

A graduate of University of New Hampshire, she spent most of her life in Haverhill, Massachusetts. She started her career as an editor of a Boston based magazine, and then went on to a highly successful career in real estate. Marilyn was known for her warm, beautiful smile and her flair for fashion. She was an avid bridge player, golfer and skier as well as an active volunteer leader with Brandeis University, Hadassah, and her synagogue, Temple Emanuel in Haverhill. She was a lover of both classical and popular music with a joy of singing which she shared with her children and grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by family and friends.
