In Memory: Philip J. Patouhas, Age 69
Philip J. Patouhas of Rye, passed away peacefully on March 9th, 2024 at the age of 69. Philip was born January 25th, 1955 to Mr. John and Mary Patouhas, and grew up in New Rochelle, New York, where he attended Iona Preparatory School. He went on to receive his B.A. from Boston University, and earned a law degree at Albany Law School before practicing as an attorney for 30 years.
Philip was a loving father to his family. Spending time with his children was one of his highest priorities. From vacations, to sporting events, to Sunday brunches, his unconditional love and care for his family was his greatest attribute.
Philip was an avid church goer and a devout Catholic. He loved visiting Cathedrals and Shrines in the US and Europe and had a special devotion to Saint Anne.
In his spare time, he would love to share his enthusiasm about Great Danes, especially his childhood dog, Cuno. He loved classic rock and was an avid fan of the Beatles and The Rolling Stones, two bands he listened to every day. His passions will be dearly missed and treasured by those who loved him.
Philip will be remembered for his caring disposition, intelligence, and love for his family. He is survived by his former wife Christine (Rye, NY), and his four children; John, Christian, Peter, and James. He also leaves behind by his sisters Patricia Straehle (George) and Penelope Costello, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends and loved ones at Graham Funeral Home in Rye NY, on Friday, March 16 from 6PM to 9 PM. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at the Church of the Resurrection on Saturday, March 17 at 10 AM. Interment to follow at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorne, NY.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation may be made in Philips name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
