Rye Boys Varsity Skiing MVP: Justin Gray

MyRye.com is featuring varsity team MVPs from the winter 2023-2024 sports season. The MVPs have been selected by each coach. A big MyRye.com congratulations to all the MVPs.

Rye Boys Varsity Skiing Co-Head Coach David Gray has announced his MVP for the season: senior Justin Gray.

“Through Justin’s hardworking and leadership, Justin was able to get the Silver Ski Meister at this year’s Section I Sectionals,” said Rye Boys Varsity Skiing Co-Head Coach David Gray. “… which is the award for best times in the Sectionals across both disciplines, SL and GS, which qualified him to race in the New York State Championships at Lake Placid.”

Justin is the first alpine skier from Rye to qualify for States since the Rye Ski Team started three years ago. At States, Justin finished 13th in slalom (out of the best 66 skiers in the state) and 32 in the giant slalom. It was a great end to great Rye High School career.
