Boys Varsity Tennis Takes RCDS Private
Rye Boys Varsity Tennis took Rye Country Day School private on Wednesday in a 5 – 2 win at home.
“Rye played cross town rival Rye Country Day School today and came away with a hard fought win with a 5-2 score,” said Rye Boys Varsity Tennis Coach Sue Dickson. “Henry Groves cruised through his match at first singles. Nicolas Echlov pulled out a great victory in a third set super-tiebreaker. Matthew Templeman and Alex Gordon had a solid win at first doubles. Second doubles, freshman, Filip Glitterstam and Lou Kim-Reuter had a come from behind win and stayed strong winning a super-tiebreaker to come out victorious. The senior doubles pair of Henry Bagley and Henry Paul won their match 6-3, 6-4. Tenacious, determined, and focused, the group supported each other well in both victory and defeat.”
The Garnet record is now 3 – 1. The team hosts Horace Greeley on Friday at 4:30pm.
