Girls Varsity Softball Wins 2nd Annual Have a Heart Peter Balic Memorial Tournament
Rye Girls Varsity Softball won the 2nd Annual Have a Heart Peter Balic Memorial Softball Tournament on Saturday. The Garnets defeated Byram Hills and Pleasantville to win the tourney.
Game One
The Gemstones defeated Byram Hills 19 – 5. “This was game one of the Westlake Have a Heart Tournament. Great game by the team. Everyone contributed to the victory and it was a good game,” said Rye Girls Varsity Softball Coach Alex Tejera.

- Millie Brooks was 1-1 with a 3B 5Rbi 4BB R
- Penelope Gilmore was 2-2 with 3Rbi and a BB
Game Two
The Gemstones defeated PLeasantville 17 – 5. “This was the championship game of the Westlake Have a Heart Tournament,” said Rye Girls Varsity Softball Coach Alex Tejera. “We played a good game and record received contributions from our entire team. It was great team effort to help us win the tournament.”

- Ava Cross was 1-2 3R
- Ava Rollano was 1-2 3B 2Rbi
The Gemstones are now 4 – 4 for the season. They host Edgemont on Wednesday at 4:30pm.
