Boys Varsity Tennis Stalks the Bobcats

Rye Boys Varsity Tennis stalked the Bobcats of Byram Hills on Monday winning the away match 6 – 1

“Rye had an outstanding match against Byram Hills,” said Rye Boys Varsity Tennis Sue Dickson. “They put in a great effort to have a 6-1 outcome.”

All the singles players, Henry Groves, Nicolas Echlov, and Luke Gordon all cleanly won in straight sets giving up only 7 games among the three of them.

First doubles, Matthew Templeman and Alex Gordon had a tight match and pulled out a win 7-5, 7-5. Henry Paul and Henry Bagley lost a close one at second doubles 6-4, 6-4. The third doubles team of Filip Glitterstam and Lou Kim-Reuter 7-6 (7-4), and 6-1.

Senior Gunnar Wey and eighth grade player Timothy Morell had a very close match. They lost the first set in a tiebreaker 6-7 (11-13) and then winning the second set 6-4. They played a super tiebreaker for the third set and won that 10-4.
