12U Little League Tournament Team Suffers First Defeat vs Harrison
ARDSLEY – Rye failed to scratch a run across in their third game of the District 20 12U Little League tournament, dropping the contest 7-0 to Harrison.
Rye (now 2-1) knew they would be up against a tough opporent in their crosstown rivals, who came out with the victory thanks to strong pitching from their starter, a flamethrowing right hander. It was a similar matchup to the high velocity pitcher that Elmsford threw against Rye on Sunday. However, Rye could not get the bats going in the same way.
The 12Us are not eliminated yet, as they move to the loser’s bracket and look to crawl their way back up. Their next game is set for Wednesday, June 26 at 5:30 at Kensico’s Little League field against one of three possible opponents: Kensico, White Plains, or Eastchester. This and the rest of the games will be elimination ones for Rye unless they win the District.
