He was born on Jan 27, 1933, in Providence, R.I., to late parents, Marie (Rocchio) and Henry Pandolfini. After graduating from LaSalle Academy in 1951, Henry briefly attended Bryant College before enlisting in the US Army, where he served with distinction from 1953 to 1955. After leaving the service, Henry returned to Providence and married his beloved Loretta on August 27, 1955. They lived in North Scituate, R.I., for almost 30 years before moving to Rye in 2017.
Described by those who loved him as loving, selfless, and friendly, Henry’s presence was a source of warmth and kindness. His friendly demeanor and genuine interest in people earned him the affection of many.
In his younger years, he loved to play shortstop and always watched his Yankees and NY Giants. He also had an affinity for gardening and would spend hours taking care of his yard in R.I., and recently his garden in Rye, along with feeding the many birds that visited his garden. He was always active and remained so right up until his passing.
Henry’s legacy is lovingly carried on by his devoted wife, Loretta, with whom he shared a beautiful and enduring 69-year marriage. He is survived by his children, Erika (Michael) and Henry (Beverly), and grandchildren Gian, Olivia and Aurelia. He is survived by younger brother Thomas, and is predeceased by older siblings Virginia Sweetland and Peter.
Henry’s love for his grandchildren was enormous. He always had the biggest smile when he spoke about them. He will be deeply missed, but the legacy of his character, the depth of his affection, and the strength of his spirit will continue.
