In Memory: Joy P. Prizio, Age 68

Obituary - Joy P. Prizio - 2Joy Prizio, 68, of New York City passed away on July 27, 2024 from complications of spinal meningitis at Lenox Hill Hospital, NYC.
Joy, born in Port Chester, NY, was the daughter of Billie Prizio, and the late Anthony Prizio; and devoted sister of Gay Prizio. Joy was valedictorian of The School of the Holy Child in Rye NY, Class of ’73 and graduated from Georgetown University, School of Business Administration, Magna cum laude, Class of ’77. Her career started in the Chase Manhattan Bank training program. She worked in Paris for Chase and was one of the youngest officers in the Paris branch. While living abroad, she traveled throughout Europe, where her love of fine food began. She became an accomplished French cook, a talented entertainer and her impromptu gatherings brought old and new friends together.
During the past 20 years, Joy was associated with the Reserve Bank of Australia. She worked closely with Australians transferring to the NY branch and many
professional relationships became close friendships throughout her tenure. At RBA, she was known for introducing her Australian colleagues to American tradition and culture.
Joy will be remembered for her generosity, kind heart, strong work ethic, and love of family and friends. A memorial mass will be held at Church of the Resurrection, 910 Boston Post Rd, Rye, NY on Friday, August 9, 2024 at 11am.
