New Rye City Districtwide Staff for 2024-25

On Monday, the Rye City School District announced 24 new staff members across the district.

Leah Blumenthal, Secondary Instructional Coach

Ms. Blumenthal comes to the Rye City School District from IS 96, the Seth Low Intermediate School in Brooklyn, NY, where she has worked for the last 11 years. Most recently, she spent four years as the school’s Assistant Principal in charge of special education, visual and performing arts, and the school’s 6th grade. Before becoming Assistant Principal, she spent three years as a special education ASD Nest Coach, supporting 96 students with Autism Spectrum Disorder.  She began her career as a special education literacy and English Language Arts teacher and taught for seven years in both ICT and self-contained classrooms. Ms. Blumenthal spent two summers as a NYC Department of Education Teaching Fellow. She was a Big Apple Award Nominee in 2016 and 2019 and a NYC DOE Model Teacher for the 2016-2017 school year. Ms. Blumenthal has a B.A. in History from the University of Delaware, an M.S. in Education, Students with Disabilities from St. John’s University, and a School Building Leader and School District Leader Certificate of Advanced Study from the College of Saint Rose.

Stacey Falcone, School Food Service Director

Stacey Falcone is a very familiar face at the RCSD, having worked as the District’s Food Service Director as an employee of Aramark for the past five years. Now she joins the RCSD as a full-time employee.  Prior to coming to the RCSD, Ms. Falcone spent a year as the Aramark Food Service Director at Fordham University, five years at Mamaroneck Public Schools, and seven at the Rye Neck Union Free School District. She began her career in food service working as the Assistant Director of Food Service in the White Plains Public Schools. Ms. Falcone has a B.S. in Dietetics from SUNY Buffalo. She is working towards her Master’s Degree in Health Science from Long Island University at Mercy College. She is a New York State Certified Dietician-Nutritionist.
