For Girls Varsity Soccer, It’s Snake Eyes Versus Pearl River
Rye Girls Varsity Soccer shot snake eyes versus Pearl River on Thursday ending tied 1 – 1 at Nugent Stadium.
Rye took an early lead when Shira Rand beat both defenders and crossed the ball perfectly to the middle of field to senior Lyla Keenan who tucked the ball perfectly in the back of the net. Rye’s defense worked extremely hard to keep Pearl River off the scoreboard.
The defensive work of Clare Nemsick, Reese and Mary Sack limited Pearl River’s scoring opportunities. Blake Sasse was solid in net for Rye. Just two minutes remaining Pearl River given a free kick just outside the box. On the direct kick , they blasted the ball into the upper part of the goal to score.
The season is now 3-0-1. Watch the game replay. Rye will host Tappan Zee for their first night game this Saturday at Nugent (watch it).
