Garnet Football Scores Seven Touchdowns in Rout of Titans
It wasn’t nearly as dramatic at the Week 0 comeback against Monsignor Farrell, but Rye Football came away with another win in their Week 1 clash against the Ramapo Titans. The Garnets reached the end zone seven times en route to a comfortable 48-22 victory.
Rye struck on its first four offensive possessions to jump out to a big first quarter lead. Quarterback Carson Miller tossed four scores to bring his season total to six for the year. Tucker Hess caught two of them, while Henry Shoemaker and Archer Fenton both had one themselves. Fenton added a kickoff return score as well. Chris Iuliano and Ty Ramachandran recorded rushing touchdowns to complete the offensive downpour.
“The game was an opportunity for all team players to participate,” Head Coach Dino Garr told MyRye.com after the game. “Very proud of the boys on this win.”
The Garnets (2-0) are back in action next Friday night (September 20) as they play host to Clarkstown North at Nugent Stadium (watch it streaming). This kicks off league play for Rye after their successful two-week preseason.
