The Rye Girls Varsity Tennis Team won 5-2 against their opponents from Mamaroneck in a home game on Wednesday, marking their fourth win of the 2024 season.

Charlotte Lorraine stepped up into a new role in the victory. The senior captain, normally on the top doubles team for Head Coach Anthony Campbell, played in her first singles match of the season. She avenged a previous tiebreaker loss to the same Mamaroneck player with a 6-2, 6-4 win. Lorraine’s straight set win sealed the team’s victory in their closely contested 5-2 matchup with the Tigers.

It’s a quick turnaround for Rye (4-3), who plays again Thursday, September 19, at 4:30pm. That match is another home game, as the Garnets host John Jay-Cross River at Rye Recreation.
