New Scoreboard for Rye High’s Nugent Stadium

The fall sports season is underway with Girls Varsity Tennis and Girls Varsity Volleyball playing their season openers. On Friday night, Garnet football gets underway (you read The OG’s game preview on MyRye.com, right?).

Those headed to Nugent Stadium Friday evening (or watching from home), will see a new, $49,011 scoreboard, courtesy of the Rye Fund for Education.

“The new scoreboard in Nugent Stadium is a huge upgrade in that it has multiple sport functionality and meets the new timing requirements for lacrosse,” said Rye City School District Superintendent Eric Byrne. “It’s also an environmental upgrade in that the LED lights don’t need replacing regularly. We are so grateful to the Rye Fund for Education for this gift; one the whole Rye community will enjoy for years to come.”
